Merry Christmas everyone. This past year has been a very successful year. We hit a few major setbacks here and there, but for the most part it’s been good. The most notable positive event was the birth of our son Braeden Lucas. He’s been a great spark to our family with so many smiles. Johanna started kindergarten this year and is doing great. We traveled to Hawaii on what appears to be a yearly trip. We also went on a cruise this year to the Caribbean. Our businesses are getting bigger. Knock on wood, hopefully things stay on the same path for next year.
Jolene just passed 32 weeks pregnant. We finally made time to get another photo of her. I think my wife is beautiful.
So often we tell girls they are our princesses. Often we forget to tell our boys that they are our prince. So we thought it would be nice to create a photo with our prince’s crown. We hope you like it.
Originally when I planned this post I wanted to take a photo of my wife while she was sweating. That way I’d have a photo where my wife is hot, literally. I didn’t get that photo yet. So the next best thing was to take some photos of her pregnant.
A few years back I decided to do a photo project with my daughter. I entitled it, “Stay at Home Dad.” My passion for photography and my life of as a dad was blended together in one art form.
I created the project as a self portrait. A self portrait in what it’s like to be a father and more specifically a portrait of one who is actively involved in raising my child. At the time I thought I was complete with the photo series. I documented the photos in my Wedding by Photo website. A few years late I had wished I had continued with the series. With another child on the way I decided I want to continue the series. So as the time progresses I will add more photos to this website.
The original photos that I post below began with a photo I took with Jolene taking away my xbox. That was the only staged photo in the series. That photo sparked my idea for the series. Each photo can be difficult to take, since my hands are in all the photos. So it’s not very easy to get many photos, and often the photos I do attempt to get I never really get. Although, hopefully soon I will have more.
