Having Fun in the Summer Heat

If you live in southern California, you know the kind of heat we can get. This summer is no different. We don’t have a pool, so Jolene wanted to get something the kids could play in that would be adequate enough. She opted to buy a blow up pool. Ever since the box arrived in the mail, Johanna has been talking about it every 10 minutes. I told her she had to wait for Jolene to be off work. So today was the big day to blow it up.

We have had kiddy pools before for Johanna, but she wanted something bigger. Jolene found a Intex Candy Zone Play Center. It’s a decent size, about 9′ x 6′. There is a fountain that shoots out the top for more fun. Both Johanna and Braeden got to try it out together. They seem to enjoy it. Jolene joined in for a bit as well.

Now I don’t know how long it will last, but hopefully it will last at least the summer. We do have dogs, so if they get ahold of it it won’t last long at all. Either way, it was a nice way of getting photos of the kids playing. Jolene’s parents are installing a larger pool at their home. So hopefully by the end of the summer we will be going there more often for a swim. Here are a couple photos of Johanna, Braeden and Jolene.
